This Ekadashi is also called Achala Ekadashi. By observing this fast, the grace of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi always stays on the devotees. Apara Ekadashi Puja Vidhi 

  • Follow the rules of fasting a day before Ekadashi.
  • On the day of Apara Ekadashi, get up in Brahma Muhurta and clean the home.
  • After this, take clean clothes after bathing and take a vow.
  • Now, light a lamp in front of the statue, picture, or calendar of Lord Vishnu and Balarama in the temple of the home.
  • After this, offer Akshat, flowers, seasonal fruits, coconut, and nuts to the statue of Vishnu. 
  • While worshiping Vishnu, keep Tulsi leaves.
  • After this, perform aarti of Shri Hari Vishnu by offering incense.
  • Now provide water to Suryadev.
  • Hear or tell the story of Ekadashi.
  • Do fasting on Nirjala on the day of fasting.
  • In the night, light a lamp of cow's ghee near Tulsi.
  • Should not sleep at night. Prayers to God should be done.
  • At the time of Parana the next day, give a Brahmin or poor food as much as possible and give away Dakshina.
  • After this, take food and water and fast it.
