Parma Ekadashi Katha

Narrating the mythology of Parma Ekadashi, Lord Krishna tells Yudhishthira that Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of the greater month is where Padmini Ekadashi, whereas Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha is named Parma or Purushottam Ekadashi. O Yudhishthira, I tell you a story telling the importance of this Ekadashi, listen to it carefully.

At one time there was a city called Kampilya. In that city, a Brahmin named Sumedha lived with his spouse. Each was very honest, very pious. He also used to greet visitors according to his capability. But due to lack of cash, many times they felt sad for their poverty. Sooner or later Sumedha proposed to his spouse that he desires to go to a foreign country to earn money.

There may be a variety of difficulty in living on this poverty. The spouse replied that we are on our way. Don't worship anybody, do devotion to God. Even then that is happening with us, so there might be some hidden will of God in it. It could be the result of our past lives.

That's the reason there is no need to go anywhere, God will do whatever he does. On listening to these phrases of faith from his spouse, Sumedha gave up the idea of ?? going to Pardesh and started living like that. What happened one day when the sage Kaundilya was passing by way of there, then the Brahmin stopped for a rest on the couple.

Both served the sage according to their ability. The sage was happy to see his service. Sumedha mentioned to the sage, Maharaj, we've nothing but a clear mind and a sense of selfless service. We often feel a nice inability due to our poverty. Suggest an answer to change this situation.

Yudhishthira then Maharishi Kaundilya says that O Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Vipravar Mal month which is Parma Ekadashi, if you keep this Ekadashi fast together with your spouse in response to the regulation then your days can also change. In response to the sage, each of them kept fast. After which each their days really changed. Not only this, after leading a happy life, he went to Vishnu Lok.

So Yudhishthira this Ekadashi may be very particular. Due to this, the poor folks also go back to the poor days.
