In ancient times, a fowler named Krodhana lived on Mount Vindhya, he was very cruel. All his life was spent in violence, looting, drinking, and wrongful association with sin. When his last time came, the messengers of Yamraj came to take the fowler and the Yamdoot stated to the fowler that tomorrow is the final day of your life, we will come to pick you up tomorrow.

Listening to this, Fowler became very frightened and Maharishi reached Angira's ashram and Maharishi fell at Angira's feet and started praying. O sage! I've committed sins all my life. Please tell me away, which will erase all my sins and attain salvation. On her request, Maharishi Angira asked her to observe Ashwin Shukla's Papankusha Ekadashi fast.
