Rama Ekadashi vrat is an important fast in Hinduism. It falls on the ‘ekadashi’ of the Krishna Paksha (the dark fortnight of moon) during the Hindu month of ‘Kartik’. It is also referred as ‘Rambha Ekadashi’ or ‘Kartik Krishna Ekadashi. It is believed that by observing Rama Ekadashi fast, the sins of man are washed away. Rama Ekadashi is worshiped in the Krishna from Lord Vishnu. On the night of Rama Ekadashi fast, one should perform Bhajan of Lord- Kirtan or Jagran. On this day, devotees refrain from certain foods and consume only ‘saatvik’ meal before sunset. On the day of Rama Ekadashi, after taking retirement from bathing, one should take a vow.
