
Jyeshtha Gauri Avahana Puja is a Maharashtrian festival celebrated mostly among the people of Marathi community. In Gauri Pujan, we worship Goddess Parvati or Gauri. Three days Vrata Puja is performed by married women/special decorations are done, and married women invite their relatives and neighbours’ to participate in the festivities. While married women pray for the long life and well being of their husbands, the unmarried women perform Gauri Pujan for getting an ideal husband. Gauri Puja is done on the fourth or fifth day of Ganesh Chaturthi.
